British pop icon Sir Sir Elton John has launched a competition for young filmmakers to recreate three music videos for his hit songs Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man and Bennie And The Jets, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his songwriting partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin.
The competition, titled Elton John: The Cut, is being supported by YouTube and will open January 9, with entrants competing for the chance to win £7900 towards future projects. John commented 'We're excited to partner with YouTube to bring together generations of artists and music lovers around a shared passion for storytelling'.
